We love sharing our favourite wedding photography tips to help amateur photographers with their own wedding photos.
Here are some more images from Lysanda and Mark’s beautiful cocktail style reception which was held at their Capalaba home; they organised catering, decorations, candy bar and a stunning three tiered cake.
One of our photographers walked around during evening with a white note pad and ‘Sharpie’ pen for the guests to leave a small notes of well wishes and advice for the newlyweds, as a special gift from us. I really like this idea; it is simple and most guest are more than too happy to oblige.
There are always some particular shots that I love to take for the bride and groom to help remember their special day; like a wide shot of the venue with all the guests in the photo. I usually take this shot fairly early after the wedding before the reception starts to take off! Then, I take a few detailed shots of the wedding decorations to help capture the style and mood of the decorated room.
When you are trying to take social photos of the guests, it helps to get them doing something physical in order to loosen them up a bit, and to do something a little more out-of-the-ordinary than a standard “smile for the camera” pose.
