We had the pleasure of being Sofie and Steven’s wedding photographer a few years back at the Workshop Rail Museum. They have since had a little boy, William, and their second child is due in February. Recently, we again had the opportunity to capture a family portrait of the three of them when William turned one. And now we get to photograph the four of them (baby bump included) in this relaxed Maternity shoot.

It has been such an honour to help this beautiful family document their major milestones.

Congratulations Sofie, Steven and William. Not long to go now!

We just loved helping Kenzie to celebrate her first birthday with a “cake smash” photo shoot.

Dressed in a beautiful Chantilly Tutu and some essential pearls from her Grandma, Kenzie had a great time being entertained for her photo shoot.

However, the day wasn’t without its emotional “ups and downs” though!

At von Maedler Photography, we love being witness to little toddlers full range of emotions when doing a portrait photography session.

But it doesn’t matter what their mood is, they always look adorable to us!

We hope you had a smashing birthday little girl.

I had the pleasure of revisiting one of our favourite wedding clients with an introduction to their new twin boys.

Tarina and Daniel are doing such a great job as parents; so calm and collected throughout the whole shoot (unlike some new parents who are jittery at the first sign of a baby crying).

One of the boys was particularly relaxed, choosing to eat and sleep throughout the shoot; the other was more active and inquisitive, not wanting to miss out on a single thing.

It was so rewarding to finally them both settled for this lovely shot of them sleeping soundly together.

They are always so much more precious when they are asleep.

All our love to both of you and, again, congratulations!

Hannah and Andrew organised a beautiful wedding at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly, and the weather couldn’t have been better.

Hannah and Andrew were able to celebrate their wedding outside with all of their guests, with the marina as the backdrop to their ceremony.

With both the ceremony and reception held at the same location, it was easy for guests to relax and enjoy a bit of sunshine while the bridal party had their photos along the esplanade.

We loved being their dedicated wedding photographer, as we have previously photographed a few of their friends and members of their bridal party. So it was nice to follow a group of friends as they all “start to settle down”.

Thanks again Hannah and Andrew for choosing von Maedler photography, and congratulations!

Brisbane Wedding Photography – Joanna and Jay

On Saturday, Joanna and Jay held a fabulous wedding with their ceremony performed at the Cathedral of St Stephens in Brisbane City, and reception at the Royal on the Park.

We visited a few popular spots around Brisbane to take photos, including the Powerhouse New Farm, New Farm Park, and the Brisbane Botanic Gardens in the city.

Joanna chose an amazing dress and her beautiful two-tiered cathedral length veil (which was also her ‘something borrowed’ item) made for some very eye-catching photos.

I was so glad that she was happy to wear her veil throughout the duration of the photo shoot, as the length of the veil can be a little cumbersome, and somewhat uncomfortable, for some brides.

However, there was not a single complaint, and both Bride and Groom cheerfully agreed to my many photo requests.

We cannot wait to show them their photo gallery as soon as they are ready. Congratulations Joanna and Jay, it was out pleasure to be your dedicated wedding photographer.

Congratulations Joanna and Jay!
